When clearance came from the investigation, there was great grief at CBS that they had acted terribly. And I get a call one day, how do we make this up to you without looking terrible? We can’t give you a check for a million dollars, but we’ll, you’ve just started your company Arista. For future mail order rights to your albums.

We’ll give you a million dollars for the Columbia Record Club. And that’s what they did. And there was a charity, the T. J. Motel Foundation for Cancer Leukemia Research, which was coming from a CBS Columbia Records executive.

And they not only have honored me two or three times, But one of its presidents, Bruce Landvall, when he was honored, said, We are all so fortunate that you were the symbol of wrongdoing they were going after. Someone of your character, someone of your both creative, professional, and character qualities.

Thank you. That we all owe you such a big debt within the industry. All of that is a matter of public record. But never an article, no.
